Endless Ragnarok adds six playable characters: Beatrix, Eustace, Gallanza, Maglielle, Fraux, and Fediel. They do not share one unlock method. Beatrix and Eustace use normal Crewmate Cards, Gallanza and Maglielle use special cards tied to Chapter Ø Hard progression, and Fraux and Fediel normally arrive through the Endless Ragnarok story with an optional two-normal-card shortcut.

The unlock requirements above come from Cygames' Ver. 2.0.2 launch implementation. The important post-launch correction is the Ver. 2.0.3 recovery path for Gallanza and Maglielle.
Beatrix: one normal Crewmate Card
Beatrix is one of the easiest new additions to recruit. Cygames requires one normal Crewmate Card. There is no separate story gate comparable to Fraux and Fediel's normal route and no dedicated Chapter Ø card like Gallanza and Maglielle use.
That makes her a clean first experiment for a player who wants an aggressive melee character immediately. The card cost is small enough to understand, but the investment question is separate: unlocking Beatrix does not mean you need to pour all your Master Trait and weapon resources into her on the same day.

Eustace: one normal Crewmate Card
Eustace follows the same recruitment rule: one normal Crewmate Card at Sierokarte.
The access simplicity is useful because his ranged style gives returning players a different way to learn unfamiliar Endless Ragnarok bosses. If you are deciding between the two immediate normal-card recruits, Eustace is generally the lower-commitment test for a player who wants more space to read mechanics, while Beatrix suits players who actively want a close-range execution character.
That is a playstyle distinction rather than an official strength ranking. For the character-specific route, use the Eustace guide.
Gallanza and Maglielle: special cards from Chapter Ø Hard progression
Gallanza and Maglielle do not consume normal Crewmate Cards through their intended route. Their special cards are connected to specific Hard-difficulty progression added in Chapter Ø.
Cygames describes the route as triggering a special scene after clearing the relevant Hard quests. Once the dedicated card is obtained, it can be used to recruit the matching character.
If the card never appeared
This is one of the few unlock problems with an official post-launch recovery procedure.
Ver. 2.0.3 fixed a rare issue where players could fail to obtain Crewmate Card: Gallanza or Crewmate Card: Maglielle even after meeting the intended progression. For an affected save, update the game, make sure the New Allies cutscene has been viewed, then travel to Folca or Seedhollow. If the character is not already unlocked, the game can provide the missing card through the recovery logic added by the patch.
That means old advice telling affected players to endlessly repeat unrelated quests is obsolete. If your progression is correct and the card is missing, patch state and the recovery trigger should be checked first.
Use the individual Gallanza guide or Maglielle guide after recruitment.
Fraux: story route or two normal cards
Fraux's intended no-normal-card route comes from progressing the Endless Ragnarok story and receiving her special Crewmate Card.
Cygames also allows two normal Crewmate Cards to be used as an alternative. That is best understood as an early-access shortcut rather than the default efficient path.
If Fraux is one of the main reasons you want to play the expansion, spending two cards can be reasonable because the extra practice time has value. If you are only curious, waiting for the story route protects two normal cards for other recruits.
The optional paid Character Expansion Set is another shortcut, but it is not required for normal recruitment. For current gameplay and progression, use the Fraux guide.
Fediel: story route or two normal cards
Fediel follows the same basic ownership logic as Fraux: the normal route awards her special card through Endless Ragnarok story progression, while two normal Crewmate Cards can unlock her earlier.
The fact that she had an unusually strong launch reputation does not change the unlock economics. Ver. 2.0.5 adjusted the low-level Enhanced Combo Finishers magic-orb behavior that drove a lot of early hype. Do not spend two cards only because an old July clip presents her as an unquestioned best character.
If you want her because you enjoy the actual current loop, early access can still be worthwhile. Read the current Fediel guide before treating an old launch build as the modern baseline.
Which cards should you save?
A simple card budget avoids most regret:
- Reserve one normal card for Beatrix or Eustace if you want an immediate new-character test.
- Do not budget normal cards for Gallanza or Maglielle. Progress their dedicated Chapter Ø route.
- Let the story unlock Fraux and Fediel unless playing one of them early is a deliberate priority.
- Use Backup Characters when available to test a developed build before spending deeply on your own copy.
- Separate recruitment from investment. A character can be worth unlocking without being your first Transcendence or Master Trait project.

Common unlock mistakes
Spending two cards on Fraux or Fediel without realizing the story provides a route. The two-card method is optional.
Waiting for a normal-card option for Gallanza or Maglielle. Their intended unlock uses dedicated special cards from Chapter Ø Hard progression.
Assuming a missing Gallanza/Maglielle card is always player error. Ver. 2.0.3 fixed a real missing-card issue and added recovery behavior.
Treating character DLC as mandatory. The paid Fraux and Fediel Character Expansion Sets are shortcuts with starter items, not the only way to recruit them.
Using a launch tier list as an unlock rule. Unlock mechanics are factual; character rankings are patch-sensitive editorial judgments.
Bottom line
The six Endless Ragnarok additions divide into three clean unlock groups: Beatrix and Eustace cost one normal card each; Gallanza and Maglielle use dedicated Chapter Ø Hard-progression cards; Fraux and Fediel normally come from the Endless Ragnarok story with a two-normal-card shortcut.
If Gallanza or Maglielle's card is missing despite correct progression, update the game and use the Ver. 2.0.3 recovery conditions before farming unrelated content. For everyone else, keep recruitment facts separate from the question of who deserves your scarce endgame resources—that decision belongs in the unlock-order and tier-list guides, not in the roster table itself.
